Description
A one-of-a-kind needle-felted wool deer sculpture, handmade from natural wool and shaped entirely by hand. Inspired by the mysterious white deer of Irish, Welsh, Gaelic and Celtic folklore, this forest spirit represents thresholds, transformation, renewal and the ancient cycles of nature.
There are creatures that belong to the forest. And then there are those who seem to belong to more than one world. This White Deer is one of them.
In Celtic folklore the white deer is often portrayed as a creature of the deep forest — elusive, otherworldly, and connected to the hidden paths between the human world and the realm of nature and spirit. The White Deer is a guide: it may appear unexpectedly in the forest and lead a traveler toward a sacred spring or river — a place where one world seems to touch another. Water becomes a threshold. To enter it is to cross into transformation.
And the antlers tell another part of the story. Growing, falling away and returning again, antlers embody the ancient rhythm of endings and beginnings — death, renewal, regeneration and growth.
My White Deer
For me, the White Deer is the creature of autumn and the turning of the year — that beautiful moment when one cycle begins to fold into another. I don’t experience time as a straight line, but as an endless, multidimensional spiral, through which we return to familiar places while always seeing them from a new dimension.
Autumn invites us to pause within that spiral: to look at what we have created, what has grown, what has served its purpose, and what is ready to fall away, making room for something new.
I created this White Deer as a symbol of conscious creation — creation guided by awareness, harmony and balance. With kindness. With beauty. With respect for the wildness within us and around us.
And if the White Deer has found its way to you, perhaps it is here to remind you: you are already walking between worlds. 🦌
